Chapter is a registered charity (Charity Registration Number 1201499) that is governed by a board of executive and non-executive trustees. All aspects of the Minster’s statutory compliance, strategic vision, policy and priorities are overseen by Chapter.
Chapter is responsible for the implementation and delivery of every aspect of worship, mission, outreach and learning, as well as the responsible stewardship of the Minster’s properties and finances. It is advised by a number of specialist committees and external advisors.
To design, install and deliver the electrical installation, supplies and associated switch gear, accessories and Solar PV equipment to enable the Minster to benefit by generating their own energy.
To help the Minster align with sustainability targets and to achieve cost savings via renewable technologies.
Volta Compliance designed the low voltage electrical installation including schematic drawings and cable calculation reports.
Solar Edge equipment was specified to include 2x inverters a fire fighters gateway for safety and a dedicated distribution board and inverter circuits.
York Minster was exceptionally pleased with the results and they are now generating their own energy powered by the sun.
This project was recognised nationally as Sustainable Project of the Year at the ECN Awards 2025.
