An award-winning brewery and tap rooms established by the people behind the pioneering craft beer venue North Bar.
North Brewing Co was founded in 2015 by John Gyngell and Christian Townsley, the pioneers behind legendary Leeds beer venue North Bar, which opened in 1997. Known as “the first craft beer bar in Britain”, North Bar influenced a new wave of modern beer bars and breweries across the country, including their own.
To carry out a full design and proposal to fit out the warehouse, web shop & associated under mezz rooms. Including over mezz staff areas and industrial power. Cold store lighting and power including refrigeration requirements. To provide small power/lighting in these areas and to install mains incoming industrial power and work closely with the DNO to ensure that the connection was in place for the deadline.
Provide high level containment to the perimeter of the production area and tap room allowing all electrical services to be routed safely and segregated where necessary.
To distribute sub main power within the production area to serve small power/lighting, industrial power
Design and implement high level space heating for the tap room, small power, dali dimmable controlled feature lights.
To re-use the existing high bay fittings and to install colour changing LED technology into the fittings to provide an ambient colour choice to highlight the production areas/vessels and machines to provide a pleasant mood setting for clients using the tap room.
In all areas to install Intruder alarm (Monitored), Fire Alarm (Monitored), CCTV (4K remote system), Emergency Lighting, Outside Lighting, Outside small power.
Specific industrial power to production area machinery was designed and installed working closely with the documented specifications and or visual inspection of any existing machinery.
At all times we are to consider climate change and the environment to ensure energy efficient products and controls are installed.
A full design was issued for approval with the outlined required kVA for consideration and working closely with the team at North Brewing Co we considered how the electrical installation would be used and an agreement on the required kVA was implemented and applied for.
To enable the brewery to test their equipment and carry out sample production temporary installations were installed, and production was tested via a generator.
The old electrical installation was stripped out once the overhead gantry cranes were positioned and temporary electrical installations kept power and lighting running in and around the requirements of the client.
All parts of the electrical installation were designed and approved before installation however subject to change, additions and alterations.
Heating for the tap room was installed with remote control and controlled by digital thermostats to ensure that the heating is optimised and running efficiently.
Lighting was installed using the latest LED technology and where practical controlled via occupancy sensors.
All our work has been documented and certified at every stage of the process O&M manuals are being prepared as we hand over this project to the client.
The finished result is outstanding, this installation ticks many boxes, a fully functional production brewery with storage and cold storage, web shop and picking and packing areas. Full scale production brewery with canning line & kegging areas. Tap Room with balcony, local cold storage and full facilities. Office’s ground and first floor. Outside customer areas with street food containers. The whole installation is electrically compliant, secure, protected and energy efficient.
