At Volta Compliance, we’re always excited to welcome fresh talent to our team. This time, we’re introducing Finley Atkin, our newest apprentice electrician. Finley is studying at Castleford College and is eager to develop his skills in the electrical industry. We sat down with him for a quick Q&A to get to know him better!
When I was little, I always wanted to be an astronaut. The idea of exploring space, floating in zero gravity, and seeing Earth from above fascinated me.
I joined the Volta Compliance team on the 23rd of September 2024. It was an exciting step for me as I started my journey toward becoming a fully qualified electrician.
As an apprentice, my role involves assisting experienced electricians while learning the ins and outs of the trade. I spend time on-site helping with installations, testing, and inspections, while also attending college once a week to build my technical knowledge. Every day presents new learning opportunities, and I’m constantly developing my skills.
The best thing about my job is the opportunity to learn and improve every day. Being surrounded by experienced electricians pushes me to grow, and I enjoy the challenge of problem-solving and applying what I’ve learned in real situations. No two days are ever the same, which keeps things interesting!
I’m most looking forward to becoming a fully qualified electrician. Gaining the confidence and skills to complete jobs independently is a big goal for me, and I can’t wait to reach the point where I can take on tasks without second-guessing myself. It’ll be a great feeling to know I’ve put in the hard work and can deliver top-quality work for clients.
Small, Ginger, Hard-Working!
I see the company growing significantly. As we continue to meet and exceed client expectations, I believe we’ll expand our team and take on even bigger projects. It’s exciting to be part of a company that’s always pushing forward.
When I’m not at work, I like to stay active by playing football whenever I can. It’s a great way to unwind and stay fit. I also enjoy spending time with friends.
We’re thrilled to have Finley on board and can’t wait to see his progress as he works towards becoming a fully qualified electrician. Welcome to the team, Finley!
