Meet our Apprentice Electrician – Jack Gosney

As electrical compliance specialists, highly skilled electricians are at the very heart of what we do. That’s why we’re delighted to have added another key member to our team. Electrician, Jack Gosney, joined Volta Compliance in August 2021, and has hit the ground running in his first few months. Read on to find out more…

What does your job entail?

As an electrician, my main focus is carrying out electrical installation condition reports (EICRs). I take care of any recommended remedial work to help our clients stay compliant with the latest regulations.

What was your career before you started at Volta Compliance?

Before joining Volta in August 2021, I worked as shop floor colleague at a supermarket. But prior to that I worked on site as a labour.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The best thing about my current role is that every day is different. I enjoy being part of a team too.

What did you want to be when you were little?

I’ve wanted to be an electrician for quite a while, so it’s great to be doing what I do at Volta.

What has been your favourite project to work on and why?

My favourite project so far has been Esholt Sports and Leisure Club, which is home to a caravan park, cricket club and even some local football teams.

What three words would other members of the team use to describe you?

Definitely hardworking and reliable. Hopefully funny too.

Where do you see the company in five years’ time?

The main focus over the next five years is probably expanding the team and expanding the business to become the leading company in West Yorkshire for electrical compliance.

What do you get up to when you aren’t at work?

Outside of work, I enjoy watching football, walking the dogs and going out to eat and drink – I’ve been a vegetarian for eight years now. I also like getting new tattoos and going on city breaks, whenever I’ve got the time and money!
