Meet our Apprentice – Alex Huntley

In 2020, we took on Alex Huntley as an apprentice. Read on to get better acquainted with Alex and his role at Volta Compliance…

What does your job entail?

As an apprentice, I help qualified electricians with a variety of servicing and installation jobs. The best thing about it is the variety of work. Every day is different.

What did you want to be when you were little?

I always wanted to become a builder growing up. Then I managed to join Volta Compliance in November 2020, just a few months after leaving school, so it was ideal really. Lucky me.

What has been your favourite project to work on and why?

It has to be working for Lamborghini and McLaren. That one doesn’t need much explanation!

What three words would other members of the team use to describe you?

I’d like to think they would say hardworking, trustworthy and conscientious.

Where do you see the company in five years’ time?

Green technology has become an ever-growing industry – and electric vehicle infrastructure is a key part of what we do – so I think we’ll definitely be contributing and developing that even more as time goes on.

What do you get up to when you aren’t at work?

When I’m not at work, I love to travel and see the world. I’d been to 30 countries (some visits, others quite extensively) before I even turned 18. I also love skiing, hiking and mountain biking – and of course I’m a big Liverpool fan!
