To provide a more energy efficient solution for the exterior lighting in the castle grounds
To design a lighting system in line with CIBSE guidelines
Due to the nature of the building none of the stonework or mortar could be compromised, drilled or used as anchor points for fixings
To install controls to switch the lighting on and off in line with the requirements of the client
The Solution
Working with our partners a design was proposed including, layout, colour rendering, coverage and lux levels
The castle team who are experts on the building structure worked with us and together we came up with solutions including metal brackets which sat over the castle walls held down by ballasts
Controls incorporating photocell and timer control were used to control the lights
The Results
Well the results speak for themselves the castle looks outstanding at night
At dusk the lights come on and stay on for the timed duration
